Por Los Nuestros is an independent citizen committee formed by political journalist Jay Fonseca, Puerto Rican entrepreneur and governor candidate Manuel Cidre, renowned lawyer Annabelle Torres Colberg, health specialist Dr. Francisco Arraiza and Foundation for Puerto Rico among other committed citizens who work day to day in the arduous effort of restoring and improving living conditions for Puerto Ricans on the Hurricane Maria aftermath.

 

 

Since the early days of the emergency, the group has been coordinating relief efforts, providing water, food, medicine, and other essential supplies to the most affected communities. As immediate relief becomes less vital, the fund has shifted towards more permanent solutions. Nowadays, the byproducts of the disaster have been becoming more evident primarily with public health issues, as we learned by the recent outbreak of leptospirosis and other bacterias on water sources such as rivers and creeks. That is why the current focus of Por Los Nuestros initiatives have been narrowed into two primary missions: Preventive Health and Sustainable Reconstruction.
